Women get breast implants for cosmetic reasons or to reconstruct lost tissue following a mastectomy. Then, sometime down the road, they may want or need their implants removed because:
The office of MOSA Surgery is dedicated to making you look and feel your best. During your initial consultation, you’ll have the opportunity to discuss your cosmetic goals and we’ll explain how we can achieve them for you.
As with all elective medical procedures, breast implant-removal surgery starts with a consultation. You will talk with the plastic surgeon about your desired results, drug allergies, any current medical conditions, past surgeries, and your use of vitamins, medications, herbal supplements, alcohol and tobacco.
The consultation is also the time to ask the plastic surgeon any questions you have so you understand every aspect of the surgery. And if you’re feeling anxiety about the procedure, don’t hesitate to express those feelings.
The plastic surgeon will then evaluate your overall health, examine your breasts, take photos, explain your options, make treatment recommendations and tell you about any possible complications or risks.
Good candidates for implant removal are physically healthy, have realistic expectations, don’t like how their implants look, are unhappy with their implants’ weight, feel discomfort or pain, are at a stable weight or have implants that have ruptured or leaked.
The surgery is performed under general anesthesia in a hospital or licensed ambulatory surgical clinic. If the procedure is performed on an outpatient basis, a friend or relative will have to drive you home and stay with you for at least that night.
The care you’ll receive at the offices of MOSA Surgery is focused on providing a comfortable and relaxing environment while giving you superior treatment. Our goal is to offer a clear picture of all the options available to you and deliver the results you expect. Please call our office to schedule an appointment. You’ll be glad you did!
