Plastic surgeons in the U.S. are medically licensed to practice here, their surgeries meet the rigorous requirements of the CDC, their medications are certified by the FDA, and the majority are certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Not all other countries strictly adhere to our strict standards.
Contaminations
You might acquire antibiotic-resistant bacteria. Many foreign medical facilities’ standards to control contagions are lacking, and some nations’ water will sicken you because you haven’t had time to build up immunity to the local disease-carrying organisms.
Recovery problems
Not being fluent in the local language can lead you to misinterpret or not understand your recovery instructions. If you develop a serious post-surgical infection, adequate healthcare may not be readily available. Your trip back home will likely involve a sedentary plane or car trip; this can promote blood clots.
Your detailed medical history
